Pure Tone Audiometry
Pure-tone audiometry is a behavioral test used to measure hearing sensitivity, threshold levels of an individual, enabling determination of the degree, type and configuration of a hearing loss.
It is a scientific procedure by which a hearing aid is selected for a hearing impaired person, using an eclectic method comprising both subjective and objective procedures. A hearing aid is a medical device, and selecting the appropriate device for the person depends on different criteria such as degree and nature of hearing loss.
